MovieMint Alerts (alerts.moviemintbo.com) emails you when bookings open for a movie at the theatre and date you choose. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, how long we keep it, and how to delete it. Questions go to contact@moviemintbo.com.
What we receive from Google
You sign in with Google. We request only the basic sign-in permissions (openid, email, profile), which give us:
- your Google account ID, so we recognise you the next time you sign in;
- your email address, which is where your alerts are sent;
- your name and profile picture, shown to you in the app.
We do not request or receive access to your Gmail, contacts, calendar, Drive or any other Google data, and we never post anything on your behalf.
What you give us
- Your alerts: the movie, theatre, show date and preferred showtimes you choose.
- Phone number: asked for during setup. It is stored for WhatsApp alerts, which have not launched yet; today it is not used to contact you.
- Preferences: your city and the channels you want alerts on.
What we record automatically
- Sign-in sessions: when you signed in and last used the app, your browser’s user-agent string, and a one-way keyed hash of your IP address. We do not store the IP address itself. This keeps your account secure and helps us spot abuse, such as many accounts created from one network.
- Delivery records: which alert emails we sent you, when, and whether they were delivered, including the showtimes the email listed.
Cookies
We use only cookies needed to keep you signed in: a short-lived session cookie (15 minutes), a sign-in renewal cookie (up to 30 days), and a temporary cookie that protects the Google sign-in step (10 minutes). We use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party trackers.
How we use it
- to run your alerts and email you when bookings open;
- to show your account and alerts to you;
- to keep accounts secure and prevent abuse of the service;
- to answer you when you contact us.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers. We do not use it to train AI or machine-learning models.
Google user data
MovieMint Alerts’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data from Google is used only to sign you in and to deliver the alerts you set. It is not transferred to anyone except the service providers below, as needed to run the service, or where required by law. Our staff do not read it except to help you when you ask, to investigate abuse or security issues, or to comply with the law.
Who processes it for us
- Railway hosts our servers and database.
- Resend, and Amazon SES as a backup, deliver our emails. They receive your email address and the alert content.
- Google provides sign-in.
- Cloudflare runs our domain’s DNS and handles mail sent to contact@moviemintbo.com.
We check showtimes on District and show posters from TMDB, but we never send them anything about you.
How long we keep it
- Your account and alerts are kept while your account exists.
- Showtime details in sent alert emails are removed from our records after 90 days.
- Ended sign-in sessions are erased after 30 days.
- Security records of administrator actions are kept for up to 2 years.
Deleting your account
Go to Settings → Delete account. You are signed out everywhere at once, your alerts stop, and your phone number is removed straight away. Your account and its data are then permanently erased within 30 days. You can also email contact@moviemintbo.com to ask for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion. Signing in with Google again later starts a new, empty account.
Security
All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Sign-in tokens are stored only as one-way hashes, sessions can be ended at any time, and access to administrative tools is restricted and logged.
Children
MovieMint Alerts is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. If a change affects how we use data from Google or what we collect, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
